Especially in climates with cold winters, January can feel like a month to put gardening tasks on hold. When that snow is coming down outside, it might seem futile to get your snow suit on and start gardening. However, while you won’t be putting in the same effort in January as you would during the height of gardening season, there are still tasks to be done to make your garden the best it can be all throughout the year.

The month of January is the perfect month for planning and reevaluating your garden design. Curl up next to a cozy fire and jot some ideas down while the snow falls outside, and by the time the weather clears up, you’ll be ready to implement those ideas.
